Naval Undersea Museum Washington

The "Naval Undersea Museum" in Keyport, Washington provides many exhibitions, internal ones about e.g.: the "Ocean Environemnt", "Diving" or"Torpedo Technology" and also external ones, which include submersible, e.g.: the "Trieste II" or the "Deep Quest" and also portions of submarines, like the sail of the "USS Sturgeon", a nuclear, fast attack submarine built and operated between 1963 and the present.

 

What is special about this museum,is that they host a lot of activities and events, e.g.: 

  • "Science Saturdays", a weekly opportunity for the entire family to experiment and explore.
  • "War of 1812 Speaker Series" with speakers, Steven Maffeo and Linda Lind.
  • "Tolling the Boats Memorial Day Ceremony": in front of the USS Sturgeon Sail a ceremony in honor to the lost submarines during World War II is held

There are also Educational Programms offered by the museum all year round for people of all ages. Especially the summer programs, like the "Wild, Wacky, and Sometimes Wet Wednesday" program are very interesting for children to participate in!

Furthermore the museum provides a "Teacher´s Guide". This includes programs for a variety of ages and diverse level of engagement with the museum´s content.
