Our stories tell of how the district has developed through the years, from the 16 metre long pre-European Maori canoe through to the newly built replica gumdiggers camp, from shipwreck relics recovered from the coast to the masts of the ill-fated Greenpeace protest ship Rainbow Warrior.
The Dargaville museum is located in Harding Park which has a view on the Wairoa River.
The exhibition space of the museum is about 1800 square meters. There are 6 exhibitions halls consist of Rainbow Warrior, Relics from Shipwrecks, Maori artefacts and many other exhibitions.
The museum organizes a guided tours for groups over 10 people.
