Its mission is to promote the maritime history of Tasmania and understand the importance to people's live through research and presentations of the maritime heritage to the community.
The museum explores the influence of the sea of Tasmanians' lives and the strong maritime heritage of the island. Here, you will find exhibits about aboriginal watercraft, early explorers and whalers.
