The "Naval Museum of Québec" with its home in the Canadian Forces Fleet School Quebec (CFFS Quebec), is dedicated to Lieutnant-Commander Joseph Alexis Stanislas Déry, a veteran of WWII and the main contributor to the museum´s initial collection.
Artefacts of the Naval Reserve of Canada and the naval history of the St. Lawrence River are displayed there. This includes transcipts of interviews documenting the social history of francophone veterans who served in the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Women´s Naval Service (WRENS) and a research report on the geo-strategic position of the St. Lawrence during the Gulf War, which consists of three series:
1. Interviews with the French Canadian Royal Navy Veterans (1998)
2. Research Report "La Guerre du Golfe 1939-1945" (2000)
3. Interviews with French Canadian Veterans of the Royal Women´s Naval Service (1997-1999)
Besides the permanent exhibitions like "Memories of War on the St. Lawrence", that you can visit free of admission, the museum also hosts travelling exhibitions. Tours and informations are available in French as well as in English and also their homepage is bilingual.
