Kodiak Maritime Museum is a "museum without walls" and are working diligently towards establishing not only a building, but a maritime heritage center in the community.
The mission of the Kodiak Maritime Museum is to preserve Alaska's maritime heritage and educate the public about Alaska's fishing industry. It has several exhibits throughout the community: - A Kodiak Waterfront Exhibit, -Alaska's Crab Industry and many others.
Only in the Port of Kodiak you can observe such a diverse of Alaska's commercial fishing vessels. "From massive 125–foot crabbers to pint-sized 32–foot gillnetters and jig vessels, these boats are a blend of form and function."
