Contact Us This is the only maritime museum in Belgium. You can find it in the city centre of Antwerp near to the river Scheldt. The building was built in the 13th century and has a maritime park nearby.
Before the museum was created it was a place for State Commercial College and Urban Technical School.
The collection of 94.000 items is organized in different themes such as fishing, inland navigation, training ships. The first expedition spending the winter there is the 'Belgica' expedition to the North Pole.
