The Central Naval Museum is situated in St. Petersburg, called also “The Venice of the North”, referring to its many rivers and canals. The museum is one of the oldest Russian’s museum and one of the largest museum in the world.  

 The museum shows the history, the development and achievements of the Russian navy.

It contains a valuable collection of ships, paintings on marine topics, armaments and any other exhibitions. What is more, the museum has numerous models of ships, warships and submarines, maritime authentic equipment and significant vessels.

The pride of the museum is the boat named "Grandfather of the Russian navy". on which Peter the Great learned how to sail as a teenager.
